On June 23, 2012, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of our facility with a get-together and celebration with our current and past employees and their families. CEO John Willoughby opened the day with a welcome, while our guests had the opportunity to take tours, play games, and enjoy food and other activities with their friends and family.
Eramet Marietta as we know it began in 1952, primarily as a plant producing chrome and manganese alloy as a part of Union Carbide’s Alloys division. Alloys, however, were just one part of the larger Union Carbide Corp, Marietta Industrial Complex. Also included was the Plastics Division, Eveready Battery Company and a Lime production division.
While Eramet Marietta now operates on only a portion of the original Union Carbide Industrial complex, we are proud of our long and rich history along the beautiful Ohio river. Our 60th anniversary event was a way to celebrate that history, as well as look ahead to the future.
We kept the day fun and interactive for the people who have and continue to help make our company great. Young and old kids alike were treated to an ice cream bar and other treats. Younger children had a great time at the face paint station, while adults enjoyed the classic car display.
Overall, we had a fantastic time honoring and celebrating the fine people who make up our company. After 60 years in business, we know the key to our success has been the dedicated, hard-working individuals who pour their time and energy into our business, and the people who support them.
